Italian Fashion: Go Bold Or Go Home!

Why are these Italian fashions?

We’ve covered French fashion and New York fashion, but we are forgetting a critical leader in the fashion space, none other than boot-shaped Italy!

Just walking through the streets, any visitor can immediately see how important fashion is to Italian culture. Italians take a lot of pride in the way that they dress, dressing with luxurious swag, from their dazzling jewelry to their jaw-dropping apparel and accessories.

Of course, there is not just one “Italian look.” Styles range from casual to sophisticated, bright to more neutral, and loose to more fitted. But if one thing is for sure, Italians have an entertaining look & feel to their fashion, and by shopping from Italian brands, you too can have a slice!

You would be surprised at just how many of your favorite brands are Italian. So let’s dive into some of the most iconic Italian designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Bvlgari, Miu Miu, Valentino, Versace & more.

The Stylish Wear Prada

Prada was established by Mario Prada in 1913. The Italian luxury brand is most known for its craftsmanship and high-quality handbags, shoes, fragrances, and more! Despite Mario wanting Prada to remain in male hands, his granddaughter Miuccia Prada is now Prada’s creative director. Miuccia is responsible for putting out the fun & flashy styles we all know and love. Family-run and female-led, Prada has evolved into a world-renowned leader in luxury fashion.

One of the most underrated and overlooked ladies’ accessories is designer belts. Not only are they practical, giving your pants a tailored fit, but they are fashionable too! This Prada belt will put any simple outfit together, adding that perfect touch.

Dolce & Gabbana Does it Best

Dolce & Gabbana is another massive luxury fashion label that cannot be overlooked. In fact, this brand ranks as one of the most famous Italian brands. Founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the brand is best known for its high street style and unique prints.

Just take a look at Jennifer Lopez rocking this Dolce & Gabanna Floral set and cape down in Venice. Stylish, regal, and eye-catching are just a few things to describe this look. I just love how effortlessly she blends into the scenery behind her!

One way to get a taste of Italian luxury, for under $100, is with designer fragrances. And speaking of scenery, this Dolce & Gabbana scent is Mediterranean inspired, as its name suggests. This cologne is masculine and refreshing, combining smells of citrus and spice. Italy has never been so within reach.

Versace Please!

Founded in Milan, by Gianni Versace, in 1978, the elegant brand struck a chord with luxury lovers. Versace’s history is quite interesting. The brands’ logo features the Greek mythological figure Medusa. Versace hoped that the same way that Medusa symbolizes falling into a deep love without return, so too his brand would have a similar effect.

Versace is best known for its’ vivid silk prints which many modern Italian fashionistas can be spotted in. Some just stick to a colorful silk blouse or trousers, but others will be seen in a complete silk getup!

Unfortunately, Gianni’s story had quite a tragic ending, with him being murdered in Miami back in 1997. After his murder, his sister and brother took the reigns continuing the brand and their sibling’s legacy.
